Finally a clash of true champions, BJ Penn and Georges St. Pierre by garrickismypal

As many people have noticed, from the many ads and commercials that the UFC has purchased, BJ Penn will finally get his second chance at beating Georges St, Pierre, the UFC’s reigning champion at 170 pounds.

The first encounter was a long drawn out war, with GSP taking the split decision. That was almost 3 years ago. This time both are more evolved fighters than before, both at the peak of their careers. Both fighters are coming off of superb winning streaks, with GSP dispatching Josh Koscheck, Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, and Jon Fitch, and BJ on a 3 fight winning streak after finishing Jens Pulver, Joe Stevenson, and Sean Sherk.

This fight is incredibly difficult to call, as both fighters have very little weaknesses. But what we can do is break down their skill sets and see who has the slight edge in each discipline.

THE DRAGON by caseyly16

With all the commotion that’s leading up to the main event of UFC 94, it is easy to forget that there are other intriguing fights. One of the other events of the night which I am interested in is Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva. Lyoto Machida is an elusive karate-based fighter while Thiago Silva is an aggressive muay thai practioner. They have contrasting fighting styles which I believe will make this match particularly interesting.

Personally, I am a fan of the mysterious Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida. Technically, he’s amazing to watch, with unorthodox striking and exceptional grappling skills. His unique style of karate is not seen anywhere else in MMA. And although many people think that he runs from his oppponents, I believe that he is simply a strategist who has the patience to wait for an opportune moment to pounce. The dude is a cold, calculating, ninja-like motherfucker.

Check out his training video and see for yourself…

My prediction for UFC 94? Lyoto Machida by 3rd round TKO.

So today I ventured to Wing Stop and ordered the fries there for the first time. It was a mere $2.69 for a large so I decided that they must not give much. Boy was I in for a surprise.

I got…

take that, and multiply by 10. That’s what I got.

It’s 11:20pm right now, and I am still full (I ate them at 4:30pm, and I usually get hungry every 3 hours.).

GODDAMN!

so…

moral of the story: next time you have a big party, stop by Wing Stop and don’t even worry about the chicken.

After seeing Jamie Foxx do his impersonation of Barack Obama on various youtube clips, I decided to take yall back a few steps and show you just what the man is capable of…

Admit it ladies, this man is smooth.

And you thought Obama was cool now… by mchoy

Take a look at him back in the day… When our President-elect, soon to be President, Barack Obama was a freshman at Occidental College (before transferring to Columbia of course) he was approached by Lisa Jack, a young aspiring photographer. The young Afro-ed student agreed to be the subject of her photography.

Recently Jack, now a psychologist, found the pictures and they have been released in an interesting little photo essay by Time magazine.

The photos (some of our favorites and the link to the entire photo essay after the JUMP) provide a engaging look into the raw personality and charisma of the man who would be president, before all the political refinement…

Lets get some things straight before I become old and uncool… by mchoy

Recently, I found a fascinating tumblr blog written by an incredibly obscure American Filmmaker, Walker Lamond. So obscure in fact, that when we searched for him on Wikipedia, it answered “This subject does not warrant an article in Wikipedia”. Nevertheless, he has compiled and continues to update a charming, simple list of “1001 rules for my unborn son”.

http://rulesformyunbornson.tumblr.com

The rules range from practical advice (Address anyone who carries a firearm professionally as Sir or Madam) to profound pearls of wisdom (Don’t boast about projects in progress. Celebrate completion) to always-good-to-know sport fundamentals (To execute a proper tackle, lower your shoulder, not your head, and remember to wrap up..). This is by far one of the classiest, most stylish blogs we have seen on the web so far. Lamond’s quaint sometimes even corny charm remind us of some virtues and niceties that never go out of style. Along with a list of rules, Lamond adds quotes and pictures that give the blog a uniquely alluring type of charisma.
